Stella Eclipse is gifted in the use of magic and at the top of her class, but because of her talents most of her classmates are jealous of her so they shunned her and she couldn’t make any friends.
the jealousy later turned to bullying, day in and day out.
This eventually pushed Stella to use her magic to get back at the bullies, but she went to far and several ponies where badly hurt.
Shocked at the damage her magic had done, Stella ran away from home...
Sunflower Heart is fun and friendly and had all the friends she could play with during her fillyhood in Cloudsdale, but as she got older her wings did not develop so she cannot fly.
While all of her friends began playing in the sky she was left behind, but she kept smiling and never blamed her friends or complained.
However whenever she is by herself, she silently cries.
One evening she made the decision to attempt to fly where nopony could see her, because she didn’t want her friends and family to worry about her.
She took a leap of faith and went plummeting down towards the ground...
This became the cause of the meeting between these two ponies.
As Sunflower fell towards the earth, Stella came across that exact point of impact and with her magic she saved Sunflower.
This pic is shortly thereafter where Sunflower and Starlight begins their friendship.
